Following TCU's 20-13 win over Texas, Jason Verrett said that despite not having his mother's turkey and cooking, he was pleased with his Thanksgiving.

“You know, I didn’t get to be at home with my family, but I got to have my teammates as my family," he said. "We’re played as a unit, we’re thankful for the win and we were thankful we were here today.”

Here are some more quotes and highlights from players following TCU's Thanksgiving victory:

Cornerback Jason Verrett:

On his season statistics:
“I came in to work hard. I’m here to be a good teammate and a good captain. I’m trying to make plays.”

“I’ve grown up, my teammates have been encouraging me and I’ve been encouraging them. I’ve been watching tons of film compared to last year, I’m working with my coaches and I’m improving.”

On his interceptions:
“We went on that play about ten times in practice. Coach told me to back up and look for the post. I saw it coming and I made the play.”

Running back Matthew Tucker:

On the win:
“I was excited for this one. I’ve been waiting for this game for a long time. Our linemen were ready and they were blocking everyone tonight.”

“This was a big game, we won and everyone’s happy. We played as a team.”

“I was surprised to see so many Horned Frog fans. I expected to see more Longhorn fans.”

On his health:
“I started getting healthier last week. The bye week helped me a lot.”

Offensive lineman Blaize Foltz:

On the bye week beforehand:
“The bye helped. Their defensive line is notoriously good and we executed well. Our running backs used the holes.

On Boykin:
“He just has to get comfortable. You saw it in his eyes tonight. He was having fun tonight and I think that was the big thing.”

On playing in Austin:
“This was my first time and my last time. It’s pretty special and the bus ride back will be better.”

Safety Sam Carter:

On the success of the defense:
“It was the defensive line. I give them all the credit. Our coaches prepared us all week and the defensive line knew they needed to get pressure in.”

On the game-clinching interception:
“All I knew was I needed to get down. Just get down and get the victory.”
