TCU to face No. 21 Oklahoma Wednesday

TCU (7-11overall, 0-7 Big 12) will look to record its first win in Norman, Okla., in program history Wednesday evening against the No. 21 ranked Sooners.

Oklahoma (15-4, 5-2) won the Jan. 9 contest in Fort Worth 85-79 behind leading scorer Aaryn Ellenberg's 26 points.TCU head coach Jeff Mittie believes these two programs have developed a rivalry and is excited for the next chapter to be played on Wednesday.

"Tomorrow night should be another great basketball game between the two programs," Mittie said. "Both teams have had great players and our players know theirs quite well. We just have to play our game and play together."

TCU sophomore Natalie Ventress scored 27 points (15 points came from 3-pointers) and grabbed seven rebounds during the Jan. 9 matchup. Mittie said he hopes for his young group to continue to get better and come together Wednesday.

TCU will have to contain the output of Oklahoma forward Joanna McFarland, who averages 8.4 points per game on the season, but recorded a double-double Jan. 9 with 24 points and 11 rebounds.

The Wednesday matchup will be the 17th meeting all-time with Oklahoma leading the series 13-3. Both teams are coming off of losses, Oklahoma losing to No. 1 Baylor 82-65 and the Frogs dropping a road contest to Texas Tech last Sunday 53-42.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. The matchup will be broadcasted on Fox Sports Southwest.
