TCU trails West Virginia 31-28 at the half after guard Jabarie Hinds hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
The Frogs had another slow start, opening 0-for-2 from the field. They didn’t score until the 15:23 mark on a Connell Crossland layup. They built up a 12-7 lead on the Mountaineers about halfway through the first half. A pair of 3-pointers by guard Terry Henderson gave West Virginia a 19-17 lead.
Guard Kyan Anderson pulled TCU within one at 25-24, but another Henderson 3-pointer pulled the lead out to 28-24. A pair of free throws by Crossland and guard Nate Butler Lind tied the game at 28 with 29 seconds left.
A total of 23 fouls were called in the first half, including two apiece on Butler Lind and forward Garlon Green and three on guard Charles Hill Jr. The Frogs went 8-of-13 from the line while the Mountaineers hit 7-of-13.
Kyan Anderson leads TCU with 10 points and Crossland has nine. Henderson hit all five of his field goal attempts for a game-leading 15 points.
The Frogs also turned the ball over 12 times compared to six for the Mountaineers.
