Moving company Campus Bellhops is looking to employ current students to move people to and from apartments or houses starting this summer, Cameron Doody, one of the company's founders, said.
The moving company is Tennessee-based and serves 52 universities across the nation. However, Campus Bellhops allows people to sign up for moves within a 15-mile radius of the campus.
Starting in May, students will be able to go online to sign up for a variety of moving services, Patrick Boltz, a junior supply and value chain management major and the director for Campus Bellhops at TCU, said.
The company is looking to hire around 40 bellhops this spring. Interested students must fill out an online application and go through an interview process, Boltz said.
"You’re going to have these people moving in your stuff for you," Boltz said. "It’s going to be a less stressful day. Ultimately, it’s going to be a big help to each individual student and their parent."
Rachel Hilton, a sophomore movement science major, said she thought the service would be utilized by students after her own move-in experience in her first year at the university.
Other students said they would save their money and move themselves instead.
"It's just another hour of my time," Ian Hunt, a first-year business major, said.
The application is online at campusbellhops.com.
