The university women’s golf team finds itself backed into a corner heading into the final stretch of the season.

Coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said she was disappointed with the 12th-place finish at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate March 8, but she still remains positive as the team travels to Baton Rouge this weekend for the LSU Tiger Golf Classic.

“We’ve got to fight through the bad shots,” Ravaioli-Larkin said. “We can’t let the bad shots get to us and let it get away from us.”

The Horned Frogs have been using the past two weeks to regroup in preparation for the LSU Tiger Golf Classic.

“We are headed toward the end of our season, and we need to go into this prepared to win,” Ravaioli-Larkin said.

TCU will play three rounds of golf beginning Friday, March 22 at the University Club in Baton Rouge, La.

The tournament features 14 teams including two teams ranked within the top 25–No. 7 Arkansas and No. 17 North Carolina State–according to golfstat.com.

Last year, Tennessee won the title with a tight two-stroke advantage over host LSU. The Horned Frogs finished 12th-place despite earning a 7th-place finish before entering the final round.

Junior Sanna Nuutinen was TCU’s top individual finish with the overall score of 232.

At the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, teammates Kortnie Maxoutopoulis and Alexandra Bonetti tied for 32nd individually with a 227. Maxoutopoulis earned a team-best three birdies.

“The team knows how to focus and what they need to do,” Ravaioli-Larkin said.
