CORRECTION: Tuesday's start time has been moved to 5 p.m. The original story had the original first pitch time of 6:30 p.m.

After getting its first Big 12 Conference series win, the TCU baseball team returns to Lupton Stadium to start a nine-game homestand.

The Horned Frogs will start the homestand with a midweek series against UT-Pan American Tuesday and Wednesday night.

TCU took the first two games against the Texas Tech Red Raiders over the weekend, but lost a four-run lead to lose Sunday’s game 8-7. Sunday’s game was the team’s first loss to Tech since 2007, but the Frogs have won 13 of the last 14 games against the Red Raiders.

Junior Paul Hendrix hit his first career home run in Sunday’s loss, and it was TCU’s first home run since March 3.

Sophomore Cody Jones stretched his streak of reaching base safely to 10 games, while freshman Boomer White and Hendrix each have six-game hitting streaks going.

The UTPA Broncs have won five of their last six games, including a series win against Jackson State over the weekend. Tuesday’s game will mark the first away game for the Broncs since March 9. In their 12 away games this season, the Broncs have a 3-9 record.

Freshman Bryan Ramirez leads the Broncs’ offense with a .373 batting average. Junior Alex Howe has 15 RBIs offensively and is 6-for-6 in stolen bases. The team is 24-for-28 in stolen bases on the season.

As with Texas Tech, TCU has a solid record against UTPA. Tuesday will be the 56th time the teams have met. TCU holds a 41-13-1 all-time record and is 17-0 under head coach Jim Schlossnagle.

The UTPA pitching staff has a 4.06 ERA. The TCU pitching staff ranks fourth in the Big 12 with an ERA of 3.14, while sophomore Preston Morrison is second in the conference with a 1.23 ERA.

The Frog pitcher for Tuesday’s game will face UTPA's right-hander Colby McCasland. The Frog chosen to start Wednesday will go against another UTPA right-hander in Kyle Tokunaga.

The last time the Broncs were in Fort Worth was for another midweek series in 2011. The Horned Frogs took both games and hold a 13-0 record against UTPA at home. The Broncs last beat the Horned Frogs in 2002.

First pitch is set for 5 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30 on Wednesday.
