The TCU Track and Field team won eight events as many Horned Frog athletes set personal records against UCLA and LSU Saturday.
The men’s 4×100-meter relay team won with a season best time of 39.42 seconds. The team includes Ramone Bailey, Charles Silmon, Ronnie Baker and Raymond Bozmans.
All of the teams competing this week, including TCU, LSU and UCLA, placed under 40 seconds.
The 4×100 relay team placed third last week at the Texas Relays, beating LSU by .02 seconds.
Silmon also won the men’s 100-meter dash with a time of 10.25 seconds against a 1.2m/s wind.
Katie Dalton won the women’s 3-kilometer steeplechase in 11:03.39. She is now third in TCU’s history for the event.
Megan Smith set a school record for women’s discus and won the event with a throw of 50.42 meters. She also won women’s shot put.
Kelsey Samuels placed second in women’s discus while setting a personal record and placed third in women’s shot put.
The women’s 4×100-meter relay team placed second with a time of 44.98 seconds. The team includes Veronica Jones, Chaniqua Corinealdi, Larissa Matthews and Lorraine Ugen.
Ugen competed for her first outdoor meet of the season this week. She finished third in the long jump.
