The TCU Track and Field team won six events at the Texas Invitational, including all four relay events.
The women’s 4×400-meter relay team won with a time of 3:39.50 minutes. The team (Ashle Caldwell, Briyanni Thomas, Chaniqua Corinealdi and Veronica Jones) beat their season-best by seven seconds.
The men’s 4×400 team (Joshua Washington, Lavon Collins, Harvey McSwain and Ronnie Baker) placed first in 3:07.38 minutes.
Jones, Corinealdi, Larissa Matthews and Lorraine Ugen won the women’s 4×100-meter relay with a time of 45.25 seconds.
The men’s 4×100 team, including Ramone Bailey, Charles Silmon, Baker and Raymond Bozmans, won in 39.70 seconds.
Silmon also placed first in the men’s 100-meter dash in 10.23 seconds.
Ugen won her second event of the day in the women’s long jump with a jump of 6.22 meters.
Senior Samantha Collins-Reynolds placed second in the women’s triple jump, with a career best of 12.36 meters.
Megan Smith placed second in shot put and discus, breaking the school record in discus with a throw of 51.16 meters and setting a personal record in the shot put with a throw of 16.47 meters.
Kelsey Samuels broke TCU’s hammer throw record with 53.64 meters and earned a fourth place finish. She also placed third in shot put with a throw of 16.10 meters.
The Horned Frogs will compete at the Mt. SAC Relays and the Michael Johnson Classic this weekend. The team only has three more weeks until the Big 12 Outdoor Championships.
