Four TCU track athletes will compete against professional runners and top collegiate athletes at the 55th Mt. San Antonio College Relays this weekend in California.

Ashley Eckhoff, Agnes Kemboi and Tricia Terry will represent the university in the 5,000-meter run and Briyanni Thomas will participate in the 800-meter run.

Kemboi ran the 5,000-meter race in 16:14 at the Stanford Invitational in March and Eckhoff ran it in 16:37. Terry will run the 5,000 for her first time this season at Mt. SAC.

Kemboi wants to improve her time to under 16 minutes, according to a TCU press release. Eckhoff wants to improve her time to qualify for the NCAA West Preliminaries.

The top 48 in the region qualify for the NCAA West Preliminaries and the top 12 from that qualify for the NCAA Championships. As of Thursday, April 18, Kemboi ranks at No. 11 in the region.

The rest of the team is competing at the Michael Johnson Classic at Baylor this weekend. According to a TCU press release, 16 schools and some unattached professionals will be competing.

TCU will visit Baylor again in two weeks as the university will host the Big 12 Championships.
