Two former TCU players will see time in the NFL, as Josh Boyce and Stansly Maponga were drafted by professional football teams.

The New England Patriots drafted former TCU wide receiver Josh Boyce with the fifth pick of the fourth round. The 102nd overall pick will join former Frogs Marcus Cannon and Malcolm Williams on the Patriots.

As for Maponga, the former defensive end, he was selected with the 20th pick in the fifth round. The 153rd overall selection is the first Horned Frog to be drafted by the Falcons since 2003, when TCU receiver LaTarence Dunbar was drafted by the Atlanta franchise.

Boyce set a single-season record with 66 receptions in 2012 for 891 yards and seven touchdowns. He earned his degree in sociology in December, and graduated as TCU's career leader in touchdown receptions (22).

This past season, Boyce had a diving 2-point catch in the second overtime against West Virginia to win 39-38. A 94-yard touchdown catch and run with 1:28 remaining forced the first overtime. He racked up a career-high 180 yards and two touchdowns in six receptions against the Mountaineers.  

In his sophomore year, Boyce was two yards shy of becoming the second 1,000-yard receiver in TCU history. The 998 receiveing yards came on a team-high 61 receptions, including the go-ahead 2-point conversion in TCU's 36-35 win over the No. 5 Boise State Broncos.

Maponga, a three-time all-conference selection including his first-team All-Big 12 award from 2012, totaled 15 1/2 sacks and 23 tackles for loss in his three years at TCU.

Maponga recorded 26 tackles in a 2012 injury-prone season, including 6 1/2 tackles for loss. He had four sacks, along with two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
