TCU women’s golf to make its 18th straight postseason appearance Thursday

The TCU women's golf team will travel to Norman, Okla. Thursday to compete in the NCAA Central Regional.

The top eight teams and the top two individual golfers from each of the three NCAA Regional sites will go on to compete at the NCAA Championships May 21-24 in Athens, Ga.

The Horned Frogs are seeded 15th in the 24-team tournament. They will be competing against top seed Duke, host Oklahoma, Florida, Washington, Arizona State, UC Davis, Texas Tech, NC State, Michigan State, Iowa State, SMU, Campbell, Coastal Carolina, Wake Forest, Gonzaga, Indiana, UTSA, Mississippi State, Wisconsin, Lamar, Illinois State, Detroit and Butler.

The tournament will be played on the par-72 Jimmie Austin OU Golf Course. TCU's tee time is scheduled for noon Thursday and will be paired with Coastal Carolina and Wake Forest.

TCU has had five top-10 finishes in 10 tournaments this season, including fourth-place finishes in the Lady Puerto Rico Classic and LSU Tiger Golf Classic.

The lineup for the Horned Frogs will be Alexandra Bonetti, Sanna Nuutinen, April McCoy, Kortnie Maxoutopoulis and Maria Maymon. Nuutinen, the only TCU upperclassman going to the tournament, will be making her third postseason appearance. Bonetti, McCoy and Maxoutopoulis are sophomores and Maymon is a freshman.
