TCU track runner Charles Silmon won the NCAA 100-meter dash national championship Friday, with a wind-aided time of 9.89 seconds.
Silmon is the second Horned Frog to win the national championship in the 100-meter dash. In 1987 and 1989, Raymond Stewarts won the title in the event.
The national championship is the second one won by Horned Frogs in the NCAA track and field championships this year. Lorraine Ugen won the national title in women's long jump earlier this week.
Silmon can take home two more national championships on Saturday, when TCU competes in the men's 200-meter and the men's 4 x 100 meter relay events.
