“Rockin’ the River” is a summer tubing and music series designed to entertain the Fort Worth community every Thursday at the Panther Island Pavilion on the Trinity River.

The third annual series kicked off on June 6 with a performance by the Josh Weathers Band.

Weathers started the show with an up-beat song ready to get the crowd excited for the performance.

There is no entrance fee, but the purchase of tokens allows attendees to buy drinks, food, tubes and t-shirts, ranging from $3 to $6.

Gates open at 4:30 in the afternoon. The headlining band goes on at 6:30 p.m. and the second band goes on at 8:30 p.m.

Maggie Cates, a Fort Worth native, has attended the series every year since it began.

She said she enjoying tubing on the Trinity with her friends, and said that the concert series is her favorite way to kick off her summer.

Attendees of the series can either rent a tube when you get there or bring their own. They can also bring their own rafts, kayas, tubes or any other flotation device. 

The Pavilion also allows pets as long as they are kept on a leash the whole time.

There is no specific age required to attend the series. The series ends August 8 with a performance by Johnny Cooper.
