According to TCU Track and Field’s Twitter account, senior TCU sprinter Charles Silmon will compete in Kazan, Russia for the World University Games in July.
Silmon, who finished second behind Tyson Gay in the senior men’s 100-meter dash for the 2013 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on June 21, will represent the U.S. in the 100 and 4×100 events.
Earlier in June, Silmon won the title of the “Fastest Man in the NCAA” when he set a record for the fastest 100-meter dash time in NCAA history.
“I’m very excited. This is one of my dreams and I feel like I’ve accomplished two dreams in one year. Things keep getting better and better,” Silmon said.
Silmon will also compete at the IAAF World Championships in Moscow August 10-August 18.
