TCU men’s basketball coach Trent Johnson will be inducted into the University of Nevada Athletics Hall of Fame Saturday.
Johnson spent five years at Nevada (1999-2004) and posted a 79-75 record. He improved the Wolf Pack’s winning percentage each season.
In 2003, Johnson earned Western Athletic Conference Coach of the Year honors, guiding Nevada to the WAC championship game and an NIT postseason spot. That was the school’s first postseason berth in six years.
Nevada won the WAC regular season and tournament championships in 2004. The Wolf Pack posted a program-record 25 wins on their way to their first appearance in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen.
The Hall of Fame dinner is Sept. 20 with a ceremony during halftime of Saturday’s Nevada-Hawaii football game at Mackay Stadium.
