Saturday will mark the first full team meet of the 2013-14 season for the TCU swimming and diving team.

The team will welcome North Carolina to the TCU Recreation Center Natatorium at 12 p.m.

The TCU women are coming off its season-opening victory against Kansas Thursday night. The Horned Frogs defeated the Jayhawks 176-124, winning 11 events.

Mikayla Winkler was a star for the women’s team Thursday night, winning the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle. Fellow sophomore Kristen Connolly swept the diving events with a score of 8.00 in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.

The men are making their season debut after finishing second overall at the Big 12 Championships in 2012-13. They return 14 swimmers and two divers from last season.

The North Carolina women’s team enters the meet with a 4-1 record. The team started the season with 4 straight wins at the Virginia Tech invitational over Virginia Tech, Radford, Liberty and James Madison.

The women’s team lost their unscathed record Thursday, losing to Texas 129-171.

The UNC men enter the game with a 1-2 record. They went 1-1 at the Virginia Tech Invitational, and also fell to Texas Thursday.
