The No. 6 TCU equestrian team came from behind Saturday to defeat No. 4 Kansas State 10-9 at Turning Point Ranch to move to 2-0 on the young season.
“I thought it was so cool that after being down at the half, the student-athletes gave everything they had and got the most out of every ride,” said TCU Director of Equestrian, Haley Schoolfield. “They believed in themselves and believed they could win against a very good Kansas State team who made us fight all day.”
The Frogs remained in first place in the Big 12 with the 1,522-1,459.5 victory.
In Equitation on the Flat, the Horned Frogs trampled the No. 4 Wildcats, 5-0, marking the second-straight season in which the Hunt Seat team has swept an opponent in a discipline. This is the first time in program history that the team swept an opponent two straight years.
On the Western side, however, TCU dropped a 5-4 decision.
The victory comes fresh off of the team’s triumph in the season opener against Baylor on Oct. 5.
TCU will be back in action Friday, Nov. 1 against No. 8 Texas A&M at Turning Point Ranch. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m.
