TCU Quarterback Casey Pachall will be available to play Saturday against Texas, according to a report by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Head coach Gary Patterson told the Star-Telegram Thursday that Pachall would be on the field and available to play against the Longhorns. The report did not specify if the quarterback would start or how much playing time he would see.

Calls to TCU Director of Athletics Media Relations Mark Cohen to confirm Pachall’s status were unanswered. 

Patterson said at his weekly press conference Tuesday that Pachall would be meeting with doctors on a weekly basis to assess how his broken forearm has been mending. The senior broke his arm in three places on Sept. 7 against Southeastern Louisiana.

The projected recovery time, according to Patterson, was eight weeks. By that timetable, Pachall’s expected return date would have been next Saturday, Nov. 2, against West Virginia.

Patterson has said multiple times this season that when Pachall could return would be dependent on how much risk there would be for him to re-injure himself.

TCU plays Texas at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Fort Worth.
