Running back Waymon James has been suspended for a violation of team rules, said TCU Sports Information Director Mark Cohen.
Cohen would not comment on the nature of the violation.
Head coach Gary Patterson said in an email that he would not comment on the length of the suspension.
James has 242 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns on the season.
James played Saturday against West Virginia. However, he was benched during part of the Texas game on Oct. 26 for an unspecified violation of team rules. The senior is listed as a co-starter at running back on the TCU football depth chart. With James sidelined, tailbacks B.J. Catalon, Aaron Green and Jordan Moore are likely to see more playing time.
James missed eleven games last season after tearing his ACL against Kansas in the second game of the season.
