Kyan Anderson scored 17 consecutive points for TCU during a blistering first-half run and the Horned Frogs beat Grambling State 98-75 on Thursday night.
Anderson finished with 27 points. He also had five assists and three steals. It was the eighth 20-plus point game of his career.
TCU (7-3) won its third consecutive game heading into a Saturday rematch against Tulsa. Grambling State (1-5) had opened with four straight losses before beating Central Baptist College on Monday.
Anderson outscored Grambling State 15-5 during a run that pushed TCU’s lead from 14-13 to 29-18 with 7:38 left in the first half. He made three 3-pointers plus a layup and a free throw to push TCU’s lead to double digits. Anderson did it in a span of 3 minutes, 23 seconds.
Antwan Scott led Grambling State with 13 points. He was 3-for-5 on 3-pointers. Rose added 12 points for the Tigers.
