The No. 8 TCU equestrian team (5-4, 2-2 Big 12) lost their first conference event of the year to No. 2 Baylor (4-2, 3-1 Big 12) with a final score of 12-8 Saturday in Waco.

The Frogs beat Baylor earlier in the season, but the Bears returned to win all events except Horsemanship.

TCU and Baylor experienced a 5-5 draw in Western, but Baylor narrowly won the discipline with a 701-699.5 score.

The Bears also dominated the Frogs in Hunt Seat with a 7-3 win.

Horsemanship brought the Frogs’ only win, with freshman Megan McMullen, freshman Rylee Morgan and sophomore Erin Gillette securing the wins for a 3-2 score.

Sophomore Chantz Stewart earned a Most Outstanding Player accolade in Reigning, beating Baylor’s Shelbey Jackson with a score of 72.5-71.5.

The Frogs have another chance to earn a conference win when they face Oklahoma State in Springtown, Texas on Feb. 22.
