Junior pitcher Brandon Finnegan was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, according to the Big 12’s website.

The Fort Worth native struck out a career-high 13 batters and tossed seven shutout innings in Friday night’s 5-0 win over Jacksonville. He allowed only three walks and three hits in the shutout.

Finnegan, a left-hander, was named Honorable Mention All-Big 12 at the end of the 2013 season. He led the team in strikeouts with 86.

The No. 22 Frogs won this weekend’s series over the Dolphins 2-1.

TCU will next face Northern Colorado on Tuesday night. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m. CT.
