The TCU’s men’s basketball team (9-16, 0-13 Big 12) is looking to end their 13 game losing streak when they face No. 17 Iowa State.
The Frogs’ biggest asset may be junior guard Kyan Anderson, who has scored more than 20 points in his last four contests. The Fort Worth native averages 16.9 points and 4.7 assists per game.
Rebounding continues to be a struggle for the Frogs. TCU is currently the Big 12’s worst rebounding team, averaging 30.2 rebounds per game. Freshman center Karviar Shepherd ties with Kansas State’s Thomas Gipson at the No. 13 spot in Big 12 rebounding, averaging 6.5 rebounds per game.
The last time TCU faced Iowa State (20-5, 8-5 Big 12), the Frogs fell 84-69, allowing Cyclones forward Melvin Ejim to score a career-high 48 points.
Ejim continues to be an asset for Iowa State, standing as the Big 12’s No. 1 scoring option. The senior from Toronto averages 19.1 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game.
Iowa State enters the contest against TCU after wins against Texas Tech and No. 19 Texas.
Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
