TCU's three concert halls have full schedules during recital season. These are the people that make it all work.

Men’s tennis sweeps USC-Upstate in TCU Invitational opener

The No. 35 TCU Horned Frogs shutout USC-Upstate in all matches by final scores 4-0 and 7-0 on Friday. 

In the first match of doubles play, the TCU pair of junior Facundo Lugones and freshman Hudson Blake struck first against the Spartan duo of Gonzalo Blanco and Jamie Yates with an 8-3 win.

That was followed up with freshman Jhonathan Gonzalez and senior Rodolfo Bustamante winning 8-5 over Ravanvir Dharni and Pedro Carvalho to clinch the doubles point for TCU.

Bustamente later kicked off the singles winning streak with an impressive match win against Dharni, 6-0, 6-2.

Junior Nick Chappell continued the momentum by defeating Blanco in a 6-3, 6-3 battle, which was quickly followed by junior Arnau Dachs taking a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Ramon Simonetti.

Freshman Andres Alfonzo sealed the sweep with a 6-0, 7-5 win against Carlos Tajes.

TCU continues match play in the TCU Invitational against San Francisco at 11 a.m. and Lamar at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22.
