KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The first day of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship in Kansas City, Miss., featured a pair of matchups Tuesday night at the Sprint Center.
Google Glass Update #1 – 5:30 p.m.
Sprint Center officials just asked TCU 360 not to use the Google Glass inside Sprint Arena. Updates will still be coming but without the Glass.
Google Glass Update #2 – 9:57 a.m. on Thursday
After sending an e-mail to Rob Carolla, the director of communcations for the Big 12 Conference, TCU 360 has been notified that it can use the Glass in media designated areas.
No. 10 TCU vs. No 7 Baylor
In the first round of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship, the No. 10 seed TCU men’s basketball team lost to No. 7 seed Baylor 76-68 at halftime.
Freshman center Karviar Shepherd scored a career-high 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds and junior guard Kyan Anderson added 17 points and eight assists in the loss.
The Bears jumped out to a 10-2 lead in the first three minutes of the game, capped by an alley-oop slam-dunk from Baylor forward Cory Jefferson.
The Frogs wouldn’t trail for the entire course of the game.
Baylor will next face No. 2 seed Oklahoma (23-8, 12-6 Big 12) Thursday night.

No. 9 Texas Tech vs. No. 8 Oklahoma State
Earlier in the night, the Cowboys beat the Red Raiders 80-62.
Texas Tech (14-17, 6-12 Big 12) jumped out to a 7-0 lead early but Oklahoma State (20-11, 8-10 Big 12) quickly responded. The game turned into a blowout by halftime.
OSU’s Markel Brown had a game-high 20 points in the win, with 18 coming in the first half.
Brown also got the Sprint Center crowd on their feet with an electrifying dunk during the win.

Sophomore guard Marcus Smart added 18 points, seven assists and seven rebounds for the Cowboys.
Oklahoma State shot 52.2 percent from the field, hit five three-pointers and made 17 free throws in the first half. They had four players score in double digits during the game.
With the win, the Cowboys have won 11 consecutive first round games. Oklahoma State will face No. 1 seed Kansas (23-8, 14-4 Big 12) on Thursday afternoon.
