After sweeping a three-game series with Dartmouth at home this weekend, the No. 24 TCU baseball team lost 9-5 on the road Tuesday night to No. 30 Oklahoma.
Junior designated hitter Kevin Cron scored two runs and mustered up two hits in the loss. Cron has a team-high 14 RBIs and holds a .292 batting average this season.
The Frogs were all tied up with the Sooners heading into the bottom of the fifth before Oklahoma scored six straight runs to take a 9-3 lead by the bottom of sixth.
Ultimately, the deficit proved too much for TCU to overcome and the Frogs lost 9-5.
With the loss, TCU drops to 12-8 overall. They have yet to win a true away game this season.
While the Sooners are technically a conference opponent, Tuesday night’s game didn’t count toward either team’s conference record. The Frogs actually open conference play Friday night when they host Texas Tech in a three-game series.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Lupton Stadium.
