One day after sophomore quarterback Tyler Matthews announced he’s leaving TCU, ex-Texas A&M quarterback Matt Joeckel announced he’s signing with the Frogs.
I am now TCU Horned Frog. Go Frogs!

Multiple sources speculated Joeckel would sign with TCU Wednesday but he wouldn’t confirm the reports until Thursday evening. TCU also can’t officially confirm the signing yet.
Joeckel will arrive on campus in June, according to HornedFrogBlitz.com’s Jeremy Clark.

Joeckel backed up former Heisman winner Johnny Manziel last season. He also threw for 293 yards and two touchdowns.
The Arlington, Texas native threw for almost 7000 yards and 72 touchdowns in high school before going to Texas A&M.
As the will-be senior already graduated from A&M with a business degree, he’ll also be eligible to play during the 2014 season.
Joeckel’s last name may sound familiar to sports fans, as he’s the twin brother of Jacksonville Jaguars offensive lineman Luke Joeckel.
A&M announced Matt Joeckel’s departure from the school shortly before Matthews announced his intent to transfer from TCU.
“I have loved my four and a half years at Texas A&M,” Joeckel said in a press release. “I am proud to have my degree from the Mays Business School and I’ll always consider myself a member of the Aggie family.”
Rumors quickly spread throughout social media of Joeckel joining the purple and white. Joeckel’s sister Sarah was an all-conference volleyball player at TCU.

Joeckel’s arrival means the Frogs now have five scholarship quarterbacks on the roster – Joeckel, junior Trevone Boykin, redshirt freshman Zach Allen and incoming freshmen Foster Sawyer and Grayson Muehlstein.
As ESPN’s Jake Trotter pointed out, Joeckel’s signing may help the offense in two ways, allowing Boykin to move back to receiver.
The Joeckel transfer instantly makes TCU better in two spots. QB, but also WR, because it will allow Boykin to move back there.
