Senior distance runner Tricia Terry‘s first race at Drake Stadium ended with a first-place finish at the 5,000-meter run and the breaking of a personal record at 16 minutes, 17.57 seconds.
Her new time is 25 seconds less than her previous record.
“Anytime you can win at the Drake Relays that’s huge,” TCU track and field coach Darryl Anderson said in a press release. “It was great for her to win in a great environment. We’re happy for her. She had improved by leaps and bounds. We’re excited to see how the rest of the year plays out for her.”
The Drake Relays continue until Saturday.
