The TCU’s women’s golf team got off to a rough start for the first two rounds of the Big 12 Tournament, which eventually landed them a last-place finish.
Senior Sanna Nuutinen led the team with a total of 222 strokes over the three day event, which tied her for 12th overall. In what could be the last event of her career, she shot a team-best one-under par on the second day of the tournament.
No. 7 Oklahoma won the entire tournament by 17 strokes over the University of Texas.
Junior April McCoy and sophomore Maria Maymon tied for 26th in the tournament with three day totals of 227.
The team, also comprised of juniors Kortnie Maxoutopoulis and Chaney Uhles, finished last in the tournament with an overall four-day score of 917. The finish jeopardizes the Frogs’ chances of making the NCAA Tournament for the 19th straight season.
The team is expected to find out Monday if they made the cut or not.
