Concerts in the Garden
The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra holds its annual concert series once again at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Friday night, the FWSO will be performing Star Wars and Beyond. This show features music from the Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Star Trek movies. This show features a laser light show to go along with music.
Star War and Beyond is expected to begin at 8:15 p.m. Ticket and seating options can be found on the FWSO website. The website advises people to bring their own picnic and parking is not free so be sure to bring cash.
Stockyards Championship Rodeo
Every Thursday and Friday night, the Fort Worth Cowtown Coliseum holds a rodeo. This rodeo allows visitors to visit the Stockyards and have an authentic western experience. The show features bull riding, calf roping and more, according to the rodeo website.
Tickets start at $18.50 for adults and the rodeo starts at 8 p.m.
Chris Cagle at Billy Bob’s
Country music singer Chris Cagle will be performing at Billy Bob’s on Friday. “Chris’ self-proclaimed version of “redneck rock ‘n roll,” has been firing people up for over a decade, and this time around, Chris is chomping at the bit for an energetic reintroduction to the country music community that’s been a long time coming,” according to the Billy Bob’s website.
The doors open at 6 p.m. and tickets start at $15. Live music begins at 8:00 p.m. while Chris Cagle will go on at 9:30 p.m.
Kris Kristofferson at Bass Hall
Country music singer Kris Kristofferson will be at Bass Hall on Saturday. The performance will be “in a stripped-down, acoustic setting,” according to the Bass Hall website. Kristofferson will be performing some of his popular hits, including Me and Bobby McGee and Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets start at $38.50. You can order tickets on the Bass Hall website.
Sunday Funday at Panther Island Pavilion
Sundays are dedicated to floating the Trinity River at Panther Island Pavilion. There are many water activities such as tubing, kayaking, canoeing and more. The event’s website describes it as “a laid-back, family-friendly event with tubes, tunes, watersports, food and brews.”
The event lasts from 1:00-6:00 p.m. Parking is free and tube rentals are $5.00. No outside food or drink is allowed, but food and drink vendors will be on site. More details regarding the water-filled event can be found on their website.
Sunday Funday lasts through the summer until August 10th.
Green River Ordinance at the Botanic Garden
The Fort Worth band Green River Ordinance will be appearing in the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s Summer Concerts in the Garden on Saturday. They’ll be performing some of their popular hits such as Rise Up and She Is in the Air.

Samurai Collection at the Kimbell Art Museum
A collection of Japanese samurai warrior armor is currently on display at the Kimbell Art Museum in the Renzo Piano Pavilion. Visitors will “travel back in time and discover the life, culture and pageantry of the revered and feared Japanese samurai warriors through more than 140 remarkable objects from one of the best and largest collections in the world,” according to the exhibition’s website.
Adult tickets are $14 and students with an ID are $12. Prices are half off on Tuesdays. This exhibition will stay at the Kimbell until August 31.
