Former defensive end Devonte Fields has been permanently separated from TCU, according to Assistant Athletics Director Mark Cohen.
Fields’ name was not on the football roster as of 8:45 p.m. on Thursday.
Fields was initially separated from TCU at the end of July following a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend, Haley Brown.
Fields turned himself in at the Tarrant County Warrant Desk a few days following the dispute on a misdemeanor assault bodily injury warrant, according to Fort Worth Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Raymond Bush.
Bush said Fields posted $3,500 bond.
Fields was recently named the preseason Big 12 defensive player of the year.
