The TCU women’s soccer team defeated Abilene Christian 3-0 Sunday night, evening its record at 3-3.
Freshman Emma Heckendorn, who made the first goal of her collegiate career tonight, played a part in all three goals of the match. Kela Gray, also a freshman, made her first goal as well, and Michelle Prokof, a sophomore, made her second goal of the year, leading the Horned Frogs to their second consecutive shutout win.
Head coach Eric Bell seemed to be satisfied with the team’s performance.
“It was another quality effort by the entire team,” Bell said, according to an article on GoFrogs. “I think we are figuring out as a team what it takes to win games. We’re learning slowly but surely how to finish games and win them.”
Goalkeeper Vittoria Arnold made six stops on the 12 ACU shots for her second consecutive shut out. After no more than four minutes into the match, Prokof made the game-winning goal after sneaking a shot past ACU.
TCU had the 1-0 at the half, and in the second half, Gray and Heckendorn made their first collegiate goals.
The Horned Frogs soon put the game to rest, earning a 3-0 victory over the Wildcats.
TCU will head to San Marcos to take on Texas State on Friday and Huntsville to face Sam Houston State on Sunday.
