Slideshow: TCU thrashes Oklahoma State 42-9 in homecoming game

TCU alums returned to campus Saturday for homecoming and were rewarded with a decisive 42-9 gridiron win against Oklahoma State.

Settling doubts about whether No. 12 TCU could rebound from a loss to Baylor a week ago on a last-second field goal, the Frogs continued the tradition of winning homecoming as they outdistanced the No. 15 Cowboys. Saturday’s win put the tally at 10 Horned Frog victories for the last 11 homecoming games.

Cody Westphal, senior economics major, and Larissa Bogle, senior fashion merchandising and political science double major, were named Mr. and Ms. TCU during halftime ceremonies. Westphal represents the Student Government Association and Bogle represents Chi Omega.

Quarterback Trevone Boykin and wide receiver Josh Doctson had career high games. Boykin had 410 passing yards and Docston had 225 receiving yards. Doctson has scored a touchdown every game this season and said he considers that a personal goal.

TCU almnus Rutledge Pate, a Fort Worth native, returned to campus to cheer on his alma mater. Pate said he comes to the games when he can.

“I love TCU football," he said. "And it's a good way to keep in touch with friends and parents."

The Frogs are set to take on Texas Tech at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in another home game.
