Despite the chill, workers are busy this morning putting finishing touches on the new home for TCU Chancellor Victor Boschini.
Holly Ellman, TCU’s assistant director of strategic communications management, told the 109 that the home is in the 3000 block of Avondale Ave., just blocks from campus in the University West neighborhood.
The 8,110 square foot, two-story home is valued at about $2.4 million according to the Tarrant Appraisal District.
According to a TCU 360 article, a memo released by TCU Board of Trustees Chairman Clarence Scharbauer lll, said the new residence, surrounded by four acres, was purchased with donor funding and will allow TCU to host events on a more personal level.
"It has been apparent for quite a while that the current residence for TCU chancellors, which is a university facility [on Bellaire Drive], has space issues," Scharbauer wrote in the email. "We really couldn’t host the types of larger events that TCU needs to host as a major university going forward."
