Bundle up, bring your pet and enjoy live music at a free, Texas-sized neighborhood picnic.
The 109’s first pick for entertainment this weekend is Friday on the Green scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 14. at Magnolia Green Park, 1101 Lipscomb Street.
The event is the last of seven hosted this year, “and we saved the best for last,” said Megan Henderson, Fort Worth South, Inc. events and communication director.
Three bands will be featured including Son of Stan, The War Party and the headliner The Unlikely Candidates, which will start at 9 p.m., Henderson said.
Food trucks such as Stir Crazy Baked Goods, which will be selling frigid weather favorites like hot chocolate floats and pie a la mode, will also be on hand during the winter-style event, according to fortworthsouth.org.
Henderson said when Friday on the Green was created six years ago the goal was to bring people back to the neighborhood. Since then, 2,000 to 3,000 people have been coming to each event.

The pet-friendly event introduces a mix of more than 120 of the funkiest vendors selling unique clothing, art and jewelry, so there is something for everyone, event organizer Jessica Dougherty said.
“It’s a chance to promote local artists and to get unique gifts for Christmas,” she said.
