It turns out the weather might not have been the greatest threat for the Frogs today.

The Kansas Jayhawks lead TCU at halftime 13-10 after 30 minutes of play.

To begin the game, a 27-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Trevone Boykin to receiver Ty Slanina gave TCU an early 7-0 lead with 12:36 remaining in the first.

On Kansas’ first possession, the Jayhawks capped off one of the wackiest scoring drives of the season with a 2-yard run by running back Corey Avery.

KU stayed on the field after linebacker Paul Whitmill somehow failed to block a punt and roughed the punter, Paul Dawson dropped an interception, the Jayhawks successfully faked a field goal, and a Sam Carter deflection found its way into the hands of a KU receiver for a first down.

Cornerback Ranthony Texada blocked the extra point, and TCU held a 7-6 lead with seven minutes remaining.

The TCU offense showed no signs of slowing down, marching down the field into KU’s red zone, but the Frogs were stopped on fourth down at the 11-yard line.

The fourth down stop gave Kansas all the momentum, and the Jayhawks would capitalize.

A 14-play, 89-yard drive gave Kansas a 13-7 lead with 12:02 remaining in the second quarter. Tight end Jimmay Mundine caught the 13-yard touchdown pass.

TCU caught a break on its next possession when a pick six from Boykin was overturned due to the defense having 12 men on the field. The Frogs punted back to the Jayhawks shortly after.

The Horned Frogs forced KU to punt with a much needed 3-and-out on the Jayhawks’ next possession, giving TCU the ball at the 20-yard line with 9:23 remaining in the half.

TCU was moving the ball offensively before Boykin severely underthrew an open Kolby Listenbee and his pass was intercepted at the KU 2-yard line.

Kicker Jaden Oberkrom added a 24-yard on the Frogs’ next drive to cut the lead to 13-10.

Neither team would score for the remainder of the half, and both sides headed to the locker rooms with the score KU 13, TCU 10.
