Graduation is right around the corner and as family and friends travel to Fort Worth for the big day, take your taste buds on an exciting culinary journey.
Here are some unique restaurants Fort Worth has to offer: the more dollar signs, the more money you’ll need.
Buttons | $$$
Chef Keith Hicks specializes in perfect pairings of classic Southern comfort food and jazz. Fried green tomatoes, chicken wings and collard greens, and chicken and waffles are some notable dishes on the menu.
Live jazz music is featured Tuesday through Sunday. There’s no dress code, but you’ll feel out of place in your sweats (although you might need some once you’re done eating). Buttons is located on Hulen Street in the Chapel Hill Shopping Center.
Scat | $$
If you’re looking for an “adults only” feel, then Scat Jazz Lounge is the place for you. To get to this underground gem, you need to walk through a downtown alleyway and take an elevator two stories down.
It’s dark, swanky and gives off a speakeasy vibe. No ball caps, ripped blue jeans or tank tops allowed, and reservations must be made in advance. Headlining acts start at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Sunday and 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
Cane Rosso | $
A trip to Naples isn’t far after all.
Italian trained and approved, Cane Rosso is the only restaurant in the Fort Worth area to offer authentic Neapolitan-style pizza. The hand stretched dough is topped with fresh ingredients, cooked for 70 seconds in a 900-degree oven until the center is ooey, gooey and delicious.
The restaurant is located on Magnolia Street. Wear something casual.
Paco & John | $$
Take your taste buds on a journey to Paco & John Mexican Diner. Located just south of downtown in the Medical District, Paco & John’s Franco fuses French and Mexican cuisine for breakfast, brunch and lunch.
The menu offers everything from fresh mussels to roasted chicken torta. The restaurant is BYOB, so dress casual and take your favorite wine or cerveza to sip on.
Cooper’s | $$
For fall off the bone barbeque, head over to Cooper’s Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que. The place is known for its Original World Famous “Big Chop.” You pick your meat right off of the smoker and move down the buffet line for a smorgasbord of sides. Grab some bread and beans, take a seat on one of the many lines of picnic tables and enjoy.
Cooper’s is casual and located directly across from Billy Bob’s in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
