The Campus Crusade for Christ International annual Winter Conference will be held in Fort Worth this winter break. 

“The CRU is a Christian community of students where people have questions about faith,” Lance Linnartz, the Fort Worth metro director for the CRU, said. “[It’s about] helping them grow and influence lives around them and the world.” 

Jan. 1-5, around 850 college students from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana will meet at the Omni Hotel in downtown Fort Worth for a week of community building.

Registration is still available for the conference and costs $260. Online registration closes the night of Dec. 27 and $50 is required to secure your spot. There is also a lower price for those commuting to the conference. Day passes are available for $45, according to the website.

Those in attendance will have the ability to hear from guest speakers Matt Mikalatos, Candice Siewert, James A. White and Tom Nelson. The band, “The Response,” will lead worship for the conference.

The students will engage in morning and evening worship, community outreach programs and various workshops at the hotel. They will have the chance to build relationships among themselves, while listening to other global missions opportunities at night, Linnartz said.

The CRU is an international ministry that is active in over 191 countries. They are active on college campuses in many states across the U.S. and the world.

The CRU’s mission and vision are to “win, build, and send Christ-centered multiplying disciples who launch spiritual movements everywhere, so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus,” according to its website.

The CRU is going on a trip to Africa in May 2015. Applications are being accepted until Jan. 31 for the trip.

The CRU will also take students to Portugal this Christmas break and Italy over spring break.

There are other summer mission opportunities for students to travel abroad and within the U.S. through this program, some locations include internships and other jobs.

Students who travel with the CRU have the opportunity to be “college students reaching college students for the Lord,” Linnartz said.
