TCU fell to Texas 66-48 on Monday night at Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center. The loss drops the Horned Frogs to 14-4 overall and 1-4 in Big 12 play.
The Horned Frogs struggled offensively in the first half as TCU shot 27.6 percent from the field, 9.1 percent from three and went 3-for-11 from the charity stripe.
At halftime TCU had been outrebounded 22-15 and trailed by 13.
The second half wouldn’t be much better for the Frogs.
TCU got outscored 33-28, shot 40 percent from the field and went on a six-minute scoring drought. The Longhorns were able to take advantage of the Frogs offensive struggles, and Texas took a 24-point lead midway through the second half the Frogs were never able to overcome.
Texas guard Javan Felix led the Longhorns in scoring with 15 points. The junior hit a three-pointer and made a pair of two-point baskets during the Longhorns 14-0 second half run.

The Frogs finished the game shooting poorly from everywhere on the court. TCU shot 33.3 percent from the field, 16.7 percent from beyond the arch and 39.1 percent from the free-throw line.
“That was very, very disappointing,” TCU head coach Trent Johnson said. “I think the lone bright spot was Kenrich Williams.”
Williams was the only Horned Frog to score in double figures, finishing the game with 10 points. Like his teammates though, he also struggled shooting free throws as he went 1-for-4 from the line.
“I can’t hit free-throws,” Williams said. “I’m just not focusing.”
“That’s confidence, that’s toughness,” Johnson said when asked about his team’s struggles shooting foul shots.
TCU will travel to West Virginia on Saturday to face the Mountaineers for the second time this season. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
