The Order of Omega honor society is planning a week of activities in March for the entire Greek community.

Order of Omega is a service-based organization made up of students that rank in the top 10 to 15 percent of Greek men and women. 

Membership is offered to Greek students who have completed their second year at TCU.

The organization is currently planning their major event for the spring, Greek Week, Marissa Davis, Order of Omega president, said.

Greek Week is a week of activities that is meant to bring together the Greek community while raising funds for a charity of the society’s choice.

Order of Omega has not decided what charity to support for this year’s Greek Week, Davis said.

This year’s events will include a profit sharing night with a local restaurant, a game of Greek Jeopardy and an athletic competition.

The week will end with a Greek wide service project.

“While Greek Week is made to bring recognition to all the Greek organizations on campus, it’s really service-oriented. That’s what Order of Omega is,” Davis said.

All Greek organizations are encouraged to participate in Greek Week.

Teams are typically made up of and paired with Panhellenic and Interfraternity Council chapters, a multicultural chapter, and an academic fraternity, Davis said. 

“It’s easy to look over some of the organizations on campus so we want to make sure that everyone’s recognized,” Davis said.

Greek Week provides all Greek organizations with the opportunity to come together for a single cause.

While Greek Week is only one of the two events Order of Omega organizes, Davis said that she wants the chapter to be more actively involved for the upcoming semester.

“I think it’s really nice that it gets to paint the Greek organizations in a much brighter light. That’s our goal,” Davis said. “Not only do we have good academics but we like to give back too. I think that’s what Order of Omega really focuses on.”
