After coming off of a tough loss Friday night, the Paschal Lady Panthers hope to redeem themselves Tuesday night when they face Arlington Martin at home for Senior Night.
Arlington Martin (13-10, Dist. 4-6A 11-2) is currently No. 2 in the district. Last time these teams met, the Lady Panthers (4-14, 1-10) fell to the Lady Warriors 68-30. However, Paschal head coach Roshawnda Lassiter remains optimistic.
“Arlington Martin is a tough team,” Lassiter said. “We’ve played them and we’ve played them tough, but this is the first time we’ve had our big girls playing at the same time. We’ll see how that changes up the game.”
After Friday’s close loss to Arlington Sam Houston, Lassiter said she wanted the team to reduce fouls and break the press.
“All year long, press break has been our Achilles' heel,” Lassiter said. “And then if people are getting into foul trouble, it really changes up the personnel on the floor.”
Lassiter said the Panthers had high energy against Sam Houston. She said she hopes the girls can transfer that to their final game of the season Tuesday night.
“That was a game of great energy,” said Lassiter. “I mean, [Martin] is in their last game and it’s Senior Night, so I know they’ll come out fighting.”
The Lady Panthers face Arlington Martin tonight at 6 p.m. at home.
