The TCU women’s basketball team tried to play spoiler Saturday night, entering Waco against a No. 3 Baylor team who hadn’t lost in Big 12 play all season.

After 40 minutes, green and gold confetti dropped in the Ferrell Center, and Baylor celebrated its fifth-straight Big 12 regular-season championship.

The Frogs kept pace with the high-powered Bears for much of the game, but fell short 91-75.

Baylor shot 57.4 percent from the field, while TCU managed just 38.5 percent. However, TCU’s 75 points were the most scored against the Bears all season.

Baylor’s Khadijiah Cave led all scorers with 23 points in just 19 minutes of action. Senior forward Chelsea Prince led the Horned Frogs with 16 points.

TCU returns to the court Tuesday night when they host West Virginia at 7 p.m.
