After a rough second round which left the TCU men’s golf team in last place, the Horned Frogs turned it around the following day shooting their lowest combined total since 2003.
Facing 10 teams ranked in the top 25 at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters, the 30th ranked Horned Frogs finished in 12th place.
Following his second round of 71, senior Julien Brun shot a 2-under 70 to close out play and finish in a tie for 23rd.
The three-time All-American was on fire throughout the front nine, rolling in four birdies. He had only one miscue on the back nine before closing out with a birdie to finish the final round.
Senior Andrew Presley had one miscue on the back nine and even parred the rest of the holes to finish the final round. Presley finished in a tie for 54th.
Junior Paul Barjon recovered nicely after having a tough second round. He fired an even-par 72, which was his 12th round of par or better on the season. Rolling in three birdies to close out the back nine, Barjon finished in a tie for 60th.
Sophomore Chelso Barrett also recorded his 12th round of par or better, shooting a 1-under 71. After having only one miscue on the back nine, Barrett shot three birdies to help him finish in a tie for 66th.
Sophomore Giulio Castagnara carded a 1-over 73 to round out the scoring for TCU and he closed out for 74th place.
The Horned Frogs will return to competition on March 26 at The Goodwin in Stanford, California.
