TCU’s leading receiver Josh Doctson will miss the rest of spring practice due to a broken bone in his hand, according to TCU Sports Information Director Mark Cohen.

Head football coach Gary Patterson told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that Doctson sustained the injury in practice on Tuesday and will likely undergo surgery this week. Patterson said Doctson was playing well in spring practice, but he can’t catch with a cast on his hand.

Doctson set TCU’s single season record for touchdowns last year, he also led the Frogs with 1,018 receiving yards.

Though the Horned Frogs have a lot of returning wide receivers, they are already without Deante Gray, who suffered a non-contact injury two weeks ago, and Emmanuel Porter, who recently hurt his finger. Both receivers are expected to miss the rest of spring practice.
