After a record-setting opening round at The Goodwin in Stanford, California, the TCU Men’s Golf team earned its fifth top-five finish of the season.
Three Horned Frogs carded sub-70 rounds to close out a strong final round at Stanford. All three placed in the top 20.
Senior Andrew Presley led the Frogs on the final round carding a 3-under 67, matching his second lowest round of the season. Presley carded a career low 5-under 65 in the first round on Thursday.
In his final round, Presley eagled the 539 yard par-5 seventh hole and rolled in three birdies on the back nine with only one miscue. This was good enough to earn the senior a tie for 19th place and his fourth top-20 finish of the season.
Senior Julien Brun also had an outstanding tournament. The three-time All-American earned his second top-10 finish of the season and closed play with a 2-under 68. Brun carded four birdies against two bogeys on the final round and tied for sixth overall.
Sophomore Giulio Castagnara earned his fifth top-30 placement on the season by having a strong final round in which he carded a 2-under 68. Rolling in three birdies on the front nine and having a clean back nine helped the sophomore tie for 24th place.
Sophomore Chelso Barrett had two birdies and only one bogey on the back nine to score a 2-over 72 and tie for 39th place.
Junior Paul Barjon earned his fourth top-20 finish of the season by carding a 4-over 74 in the final round as well as a 5-under 65 after day one. He tied for 20th place.
