A crowd of students, friends and family members filled Amon G. Carter Stadium Friday night to watch the defending Big 12 co-champion Horned Frogs close spring practice and reveal their 2015 Nike uniforms.
The spring game kicked off at 7 p.m. but was without starting quarterback Trevone Boykin who recently underwent left wrist surgery according to a report from Fox Sports Southwest.
Boykin’s injury didn’t stop him from joining the crowd in the stands before the game where he signed autographs and took pictures for a long line of fans.
Other notable TCU starters that didn’t see playing time were tailback Aaron Green and wide receiver Josh Doctson.
With Boykin out, backup quarterbacks Bram Kohlhausen, Foster Sawyer and Grayson Muehlstein all saw playing time. The quarterbacks also brought back TCU’s hurry-up offense from last season.
The Horned Frogs’ defense looked strong as head coach Gary Patterson did most of the play calling from the center of the field.
After the game, Patterson invited the crowd onto the field to be a part of the new uniform unveiling and to greet some of the recruits from the 2015 signing class.
Three players modeled the new uniforms which all featured the horned frog skin pattern.
The home uniform features a purple and black combination with white numbers. The away jersey is white-on-white with purple numbers. The alternate uniform features a gray jersey and pants with white accents.

Katelyn Jennings, a sophomore marketing major at TCU, said she came to the game for her love of TCU athletics and to help get the crowed hyped for next season.
“It’s a way to show people that we are a community and that we are a community throughout our athletics especially our football team,” Jennings said.
Former TCU players Kevin White and Chris Hackett, who are going into the NFL draft this year, were also part of the crowd.
TCU will play Minnesota on Sept. 3 for their first game of the 2015-2016 season.
