Dr. Suzy Lockwood received the Center for Connection Culture Hero award for being a role model and leader on TCU’s campus.

The Center for Connection Culture encourages a relationship-basedatmosphere between students, faculty and staff in order to provide a more productive environment, said Ann Louden, director of the Center for Connection Culture.

Lockwood, director of undergraduate nursing studies in the Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences, was presented the award at the 2015 Center for Connection Culture Symposium.

Lockwood is the second person to receive the award. She said she is proud to receive this recognition.

“What makes TCU so special to me is the fact that students, faculty and staff are very well connected, which is what the Center for Connection Culture is all about,” Lockwood said. “For me to receive this award means that I exemplify that connection.”

Louden presented Lockwood with the award.

“We are proud to highlight Suzy’s example as a faculty role model who is committed to the importance of relationship excellence,” Louden said. “Connection Culture Heroes are selected for embracing TCU’s mission, building collegial relationships and voicing importance of connecting cultures.”

Lockwood is a TCU alumna and has been working at TCU for 18 years.

“I can’t imagine being anywhere else,” Lockwood said. “This award means a lot to me, because I really try to be a role model everyday in everything I do.”
