Senior Kortnie Maxoutopoulis shot a career-best of 68 to end the Big 12 Championship in San Antonio this weekend.
The women’s golf team has finished first or second in 14 of the last 18 conference tournaments.
The Horned Frogs shot a 15-over 879, which was 12 shots behind first-place Baylor.
Maxoutopoulis finished with 2-under 214, two strokes behind leaders Kenzie Neisen of Oklahoma State and Laura Londari of Baylor.
This was Maxoutopoulis’ third time in the last four tournaments that she’s recorded the best finish. She’s had the highest Horned Frog finish at a conference tournament since Sanna Nuutinen won the 2012 Mountain West championship.
Freshman Emmy Martin and senior Alexandra Bonetti shot a 72 and 73 respectively.
Sophomore Kelly McGovern shot 5-over 221, which tied her for 17th.
TCU will find out Monday at 6 p.m. on the Golf Channel if it will receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Regionals. The team has reached postseason in 18 of the last 19 seasons.
