The TCU track and field teams ended their regular season at the Lowdon Track and Field Complex on Saturday, racking up five wins in the meet before a crowd of 1,324 fans.
Junior Ronnie Baker impressed again, taking home the victory in the men’s 100 meter race. Baker, the 2015 NCAA 60-meter Champion, recorded a wind-legal PR of 10.08, making it the third week in a row that Baker improved his time.
Sophomore Kolby Listenbee also had a solid performance in the men’s 100 meters, finishing third with a wind-legal PR of 10.27. Listenbee moved to No. 13 on the NCAA West qualifying list after his performance on Saturday.
The two also helped take home the win in the men’s 4×100 relay. Sophomore Cameron Echols-Luper and senior Ramone Bailey ran the first two legs of the race while Listenbee and Baker finished the relay, pacing to a time of 39.18 seconds.
Their time of 39.18 seconds is the second fastest time in the relay for the Horned Frogs this season, behind the time of 39.15 set at the Texas Relays on March 28.
Bailey and Echols-Luper also finished first and second in the men’s long jump, with Bailey recording a distance of 7.80 meters and Echols-Luper recording a distance of 7.73 meters.
Bailey’s mark was tied for third-best in TCU history, while Echols-Luper’s mark was seventh-best in TCU history.
The day was also highlighted by senior Lavon Collins’ performance. Collins won the 400 hurdles race for the third time this season.
“Whatever the reasons may be, we perform really well at home,” said Darryl Anderson, director of track and field at TCU. “We had a lot of really good things happen, we had people step up and it was a great effort and a beautiful day.”
