The TCU men’s golf team secured a spot at the NCAA championship after tying for forth place at the regional this weekend.
TCU’s tie with Washington punched their ticket to Tampa, Florida for the NCAA Championship. The University of Alabama at Birmingham, the University of South Carolina and the University of Southern California rounded out the top five.
Leading the way for TCU was Giulio Castagnara. The sophomore entered the final round in a tie for second place and carded his third straight sub-par round. Castagnara shot a 1-under 71 which was good enough to earn a fifth place finish, the highest of his career.
Senior Julien Brun carded a 3-over 75 in his final round and finished his last regional tournament in a tie for 30th place.
Fellow senior Andrew Presley carded a 1-over 73 in the final rounded and tied for 37th overall.
Sophomore Chelso Barrett had a flawless final round. Barrett had no miscues with two birdies throughout all 18 holes, scoring a 2-under 70 and finishing in a tie for 10th place.
Junior Paul Barjon had an impressive first round finishing with no miscues and four birdies. Barjon’s start to the tournament propelled him to an excellent finish where he carded a 2-over 74 in his final round and finished in a tie for 22nd place. This was the third straight year the junior placed in the top 25 at a regional tournament.
The Frogs will play for the National title at The Concession Club in Tampa, Florida from May 29 to June 3.
The NCAA Golf Championship will air on Golf Channel beginning June 2.
